CREATIVE EXPRESSION
When we are young, we express ourselves in creative ways through painting, drawing, building and experimenting with different mediums like clay and playdough, but as the years roll on, we become locked in a tug-of-war with study, work, family and sporting commitments. This is the stage were a lot of youth lose their natural creative abilities due to lack of time or influence. How do we encourage our youth to nurture creative confidence?
Creativity is the ability to come up with unique ideas. Confidence is the ability to act on these ideas. We all have an innate level of creative confidence which requires active nurturing. It’s like going to the gym. Focusing on your leg muscles today strengths and motivates them, the same goes for your creative mind. You need to exercise it, flex it and strengthen it, to unleash your creative abilities. Tap into your imagination muscles by making time each day to exercise them. But how?
Creative energy flows in the right conditions. Find a place that offers quiet and peace. Take a notebook. Doodle or write whatever comes to your mind. Brainstorm from that idea by branching out your creative thinking. Think outside the box because when it comes down to it – no idea is a bad idea.
We all have the ability to create. Attitude and perception of the world open opportunities to new ways of using your imagination. Technology and innovation of the last ten years are proof there are many creatives in the world. By encouraging your creative spark, you can lead a life of increased happiness and fulfillment. Give yourself permission to be creative, to have confidence and to be the idea.
