MEET CHARLAMAINE MONROE

A bulbous nose, above large protruding fangs, looked powdered, the lips, bright red, and large obviously fake eyelashes surrounded mud coloured eyes.

Meet Charlamaine Monroe, an ogre, and a most loveable character. Charli, for short, is the bridge-keeper and protector to the town of Underwood. He works alongside Tanith the dragon.

“Hello ducklingth, What bringth you to Underwood? Ooh my butterflythths like you. You muth’t be nice,” The enormous ogre quickly opened and closed its eyes at Caelian, and he realized in shock the ogre was attempting to flutter his eyelids at him. “My name ith Charlamaine Monroe, but if you call me Charli, well handthome, I’ll be your angel.”

Caelian stepped out of the tavern with Fin flying alongside, glancing at the wood nymphs that were still gossiping about his encounter with Charlamaine at the village bridge. He shook his head, sighing and turned to Fin who tried to keep a straight face yet couldn’t hide the grin that crept across his features.
